HEXAGONE MMA 5 : big show in Germany, Blot crowned

It’s a successful bet. A month and a half after its last event in Dubai, HEXAGONE MMA returned to Europe on Saturday, October 15, 2022, but this time in Germany, for a gala organized in partnership with GMC, the main local organization.
And for the very first Franco-German association in the history of MMA, the show was on flames in the Rudolf Weber Arena in Oberhausen. Finishings arrived fast, such as the successful submission by Younes Najid in the first round of the very first fight of the card. Feeling much more at ease on the ground than his opponent, the French-Moroccan forced Alix Jeanguillaume to give up, caught in a superb guillotine.
Despite this demonstration of the “Scientist”, the performance of the evening was undoubtedly for his compatriot Matthieu Letho Duclos, who was facing Giorgi Egnatashvili. Dominated by his Georgian opponent, then shaken on several English boxing combinations, Daniel Woirin’s protege impressed the public with a turnaround in the middle of the first round, with an overpowering counter hook. A clinical finish, which already ranks among the organization’s finest replays. The striking, was also what made the interest of the confrontation between Maxime Fondop, and Ion Grigore. Two heavyweights, two punchers, two upward dynamics. Unsurprisingly, it was the standing up that made the difference in the first round, on a violent sequence of the Romanian, pushing the referee to stop the fight.
Finally, like every gala, a world belt was at stake in the cage of the Rudolf Weber-Arena. And who says exceptional opportunity says exceptional fight. Indeed, the clash of generations between the Frenchwoman Laëtitia Blot, 39 y/o and Mariam Torchinava, 19 y/o took on the appearance of a real “war”. A physical duel of five rounds between two high level judokats which finally turned to the advantage of the most experienced, Blot, victorious by the decision and very emotional at the time of receiving the inaugural belt of -57 kg.”I’m glad to show that it’s possible to achieve something if you work hard for it.”
