The HEXAGONE MMA Winamax effect was undeniable! This Friday, for its very first appearance in Strasbourg, the number one mixed martial arts organization in France created a sensation, electrifying the Zénith arena for several hours. Headlining the event, Anthony Morel from Réunion caused a sensation, delivering a massive knockout to local fighter Paul-Emmanuel Gnaze in a hard-fought heavyweight bout. Spectacular !

Another knockout for Anthony Morel

Anthony Morel has struck again! The former heavyweight title contender from Réunion Island made a spectacular return to the cage at HEXAGONE MMA Winamax this Friday, despite the hostility of the Strasbourg crowd. Facing local fighter Paul-Emmanuel Gnaze, Morel didn’t falter, securing a knockout victory in the first round with his powerful punches. A decisive win, earning him a title shot! Indeed, for his next fight, Morel will have the opportunity to challenge champion Adama Diop, whom he defeated by knockout in his first professional bout… The rematch promises to be epic!
“No one is immune to a knockout. It happened to my opponent, but it could have happened to me too; he hit incredibly hard,” commented Anthony Morel, full of respect, before looking ahead to his next challenge. “Adama Diop, I’m your kryptonite. The first time, you took an elbow and you were asleep. Now, I know how to use my fists, my feet, and my knees too. So watch out, I’m ready.”

A remarkable debut for Landouzy

Besides the main event, the other highlight of the evening was the clash between Allan Landouzy and Anass Mehraz. A true rising star of French MMA, crowned European amateur champion and former opponent of Paul Dena, Landouzy made his professional debut in Strasbourg, under the watchful eyes of all the sport’s fans. It was a resounding success, as the fighter from northern France won by submission after two rounds of overwhelming dominance. He clearly intends to establish his dominance in the bantamweight division!
“Turning pro, that’s all I’ve been waiting for! I had 29 amateur fights just to prepare for the professional world, and the hard work is paying off, I’m 1-0 tonight,” Landouzy said in the cage, right after his victory. “Anass had spoken a little before the fight, saying that my team made a mistake by agreeing to fight him. But I think it’s quite the opposite, because I finished him in the second round, and easily!”

The locals were there!

Finally, in Strasbourg, other promising fighters were able to showcase their skills before the Zénith crowd. Also from the French amateur circuit, Parisian Mathilde Aschenbrenner secured a lightning-fast victory against Diana Muzychenko, by submission in just 34 seconds! A third finish in as many professional fights, which puts her more than ever in pole position to claim a title shot in the strawweight division (-52 kg).
This Friday, the crowd also enthusiastically supported several local fighters. Salvatore Prahin, from Rosenau, secured a dominant TKO victory, while Agit Hamadyan from Strasbourg won by decision against the tough Stefan Zuparic. Also noteworthy were the successful debuts of William Sifan from Marseille (TKO in round 1) and Kassoum Kone from Ivory Coast (decision), both new recruits for HEXAGONE MMA Winamax!
