The Futuroscope Arena was once again buzzing with excitement for HEXAGONE MMA Winamax! This Thursday, April 2nd, for its grand return to Poitiers, France’s number one MMA organization delivered a non-stop show, featuring many local athletes. The highlight of the evening was the stunning victory of young French prodigy Arnaud Prigent against Alan Cordeiro in the main event!
Arnaud Prigent makes a winning comeback
He needed to bounce back, and he did! After suffering his first professional defeat last February, Arnaud Prigent returned to the cage this Thursday against Alan Cordeiro in the main event of HEXAGONE MMA Series 3. Under pressure to perform, the Parisian prodigy didn’t falter, ultimately winning by unanimous decision after a dominant performance. This confirms that his last loss was merely a blip and that he is indeed destined for the top!
“My last fight was a very big challenge, so I wanted to get back in the ring quickly, to avoid ending on a defeat,” commented Arnaud Prigent to the microphone, just after his triumph over Alan Cordeiro. “Tonight, I’m very happy with how I felt in the cage. I would have preferred to finish quickly, but going three full rounds is also very good for the experience. I didn’t expect my opponent to be so tough and resilient!”
Kevin Del in control, Khodedanian impresses
But on Thursday, before the main event, other high-level fights were held in the HEXAGONE MMA cage. A true veteran of the French circuit, having already competed in the PFL, Kevin Del secured a convincing victory against local fighter Bastien Petit by unanimous decision. Like Bastien Petit, not all the fighters from Poitiers had success on their home turf, as young Laurane Maamar also suffered a defeat by decision after a close duel against Laetitia Gallardo. However, Haik Khodedanian delivered a superb performance, defeating the dangerous striker Raphael Mebenga by TKO in the first round in just 20 seconds! For his first professional fight, the young man from Poitiers delivered a remarkable performance, establishing himself as a talent to watch in future editions… On the amateur side, the best performances came from Scott Pozzo from Orléans, who defeated Nicolas Boutinot by unanimous decision, and Nino Sifaoui, who beat Killian Layour by TKO in round 1.
